Finally RKGLUG moves

The second RKGLUG meet held today........finally. After a long gap of around 6 months we finally had a meet. Starting from a faculty workshop we ended up conducting a student workshop. It was a nice experiemce, much better than the previous meet (a seminar) ofcourse. Last time our part was good but the response hadn't been so good. This time things figured out to be the opposite way. Our presentation wasn't that good but the response we got has been superb especially from girls. Frankly speaking I never expected such a response.
It seems Jagriti has really turned things around. Students are thinking to be more technical now. Feels great to see everybody getting in now. It has put a new zeal into me, to work again for the society and to share knowledge.
Feels great from within and even puts up more pressure on me. But I guess thats what I like and somehow this will help me in the near future.Khair the workshop will change things and perceptions all over our college and thats what I love..... changing habits, thinking and being diffferent. Lets hope this works from now on.

2nd Success in 3 days

Today the RKGLUG had its 3rd success, making a mark at the CEMCA, New Delhi, by successfully installing Linux on 2 systems and getting an invitation for more installations at their centre. We even earned 2000 rupees in the process, though that was not of much importance for us but it did provide the motivation for doing more such tasks.
This is the second success in 3 days, the first being Jagriti' 07. It has been LUG's sixth event I should say, but only 3rd success, the previous two being the JNU Workshop and the Installfest at RKGIT respectively. Though all of us had been unable to be at all three places but there has been an active participation at all places.
Gaurav sir's seeds are growing now. There will be more techies in the near future in RKGIT and I see many things coming en route to fame for our college. Let's pray for our success.

Finally Jagriti' 07 is a success !

6 months of talking and 3 months of labour finally resulted in some fruitful success. 30th of July was when Shashank put in that first post on orkut and since then we have put in everything be it in any form. Good timing for everything along with some really good marketing in the last stages helped in pull some real crowd. I won't go for describing the event as that will fill pages. All I want to say is that everyone's hard work paid in the end and made Jagriti a success.

Who is to be blamed?

Yesterday I was travelling on an unregistered bike in Delhi. Though I knew it was too risky but the job was worth the risk. Finally we got caught on our return journey.
As always we thought that putting in our license was not relevant so we offered the policeman, money. After some denials he too kept it and we escaped a rupees thousand fine. We moved ahead happily and didn't turn back.
But very soon I had the thought process again taking place! Were we right in bribing him ? I mean obviously it was illegal but what else could we do? We took a bike with no papers at our own risk, because no other bike was available in the hostel. Then, we went for fest work and not our personal work. We students how can we pay so much fine? Especially those who are from different places? This is what first view says where I justify myself.
Now second view says that I am one of those people who are spreading corruption in my country. If I bribe then why shouldn't others do? And then why shouldn't they take? All in all corruption from the grassroot level! And so if politicians commit scams we should not complain ! Isn't it?
Now I am not sure what the correct way is all I know is that I committed some crime and one of those who spread corruption in my country...
