5 months on..........ths same old story

Five months back I wrote something against UPTU which read like " Asia's largest technical University ......" and then followed up within a couple of days seeing the PPL exam question paper that read something like, " Did the VC ..... ". In the latter topic I had mentioned I was impressed with the standards of the question paper and if this was to be maintained then I will have to study throughout the sem in order to secure some good marks. When a friend read that post, he said, " Are you serious about studying throughout? " At that time I said I was very serious.....
Its been five months since that day....the next semester exams has come, due for a finish in a week and I find myself in the same situation again....not studied again and now I recall that posting of mine. HUH ! Haven't studied again and again impressed with the UPTU standards after the computer networks exam paper.
If I don't pass then that is solely my responsibilty as I didn't study but what made me more dejected that I didn't know the practical questions which I expect myself to be knowing. Really sad on my part. I was really happy to see practical questions and even more happy when a couple of friends told me that these things were not there in book, don't know but that makes me really happy. What to say now...... I am really heading downwards with no study and no knowledge....too bad on ly part.Hope I recover soon or I should say " Get well soon Abhinav".

Oops I did it again !

Why me only?? Thats was the question I asked dada yesterday even before I had been through my scrapbook. While I was figuring out with dada what I should do to prove that I was not the culprit, I thought of showing him what Ms.P had to say regarding the poll. The speed of net had as usual been the speed of light and so before I could see my scrapbook my new Motorola W220 rang, the second only call on my phone, had Piyush telling me that something's gone wrong. I thought there must have been wild reactions regarding the poll only. I had not sensed danger by then but when I saw my scrapbook I knew I was screwed, that too unneccessarily. EIGHT new scraps! At first instance I did not understand anything. All I saw was Ms.A(1), Ms.B(2), Ms.C(5) having threatened me. (The number in brackets denote the number of scraps they made) The next step was to find out who this Ms.B was (as it was the first time I had any scrap from her), Ms.A being already known to me and Ms.C having given quite a detalied introduction of her apart from her dad's intro too.
I closed my eyes and lied down as I knew something was coming to me and I had no clue as to how I was going to face this. At first I thought to delete the community straighaway and then my profile too. But was I acting intelligently?? No, as I feel now. Well, by now I had changed my mind and asking for pardon had been out from the brain. My new mobile had been ringing by now every second, though for the wrong reasons only. I lied to someone whom I didnt't want to, regarding the incident and being unknown of everything. Took those steps without thinking anything and for the sole purpose of buying TIME. That act of mine saved me from blushes atleast at that moment.
Later after thinking of something so that I could defy everything the next day, we took some technically sound steps, though that was very dangerous, but to keep options open I had to do that and play safe. Anyways after all this I returned to my hostel and was given the same welcome which I got when I came back from IPEC after getting through the iGate process. I was surrounded by all hostelers and a flurry of questions were fired on me. Best thing was that I wasn't serious, atleast pretending not to be. I spent some time with everybody and then came back to my room. Had a chat with the guy to whom I had lied before. Then things cooled down for me as he assured me that I was safe and that people had understood the technical details. I don't know whether they understood whether I wasn't the culprit but all I knew was that my name would not be there at the notice board, for the first time for wrong reasons and for which I heaved a HUUUGE sigh of relief.
A mehfil in my room after that till around 3 a.m. after which we went to our best place to remove stress i.e. our dhabas, sapna this time as upadhyay ji has put his shutter down since a past few days. Came back and slept at around 5.30 in the morning, ending quite an eventful day of my life.

A poll, NOT created by me. An act in which every hosteler was an active participant, 150 guyz logged on to the community at the same time for the first time, 7 new requests for the community in a single day (the highest ever), community being active for every second till the poll was removed. Between all this, I buy a new mobile, have some chinese stuff, enjoy with friends, and before I have the last piece of the lemonade the party ends for me with a message. End results are only to say that I am no more. No support for me in future, friends lost in the process, I am the most hated guy in the girls hostel, be it batchmates, seniors or juniors and all I can say is that. " खाया पिया कुछ नही , ग्लास तोड़ा १२ अाना ".

Did I deserve to be where I am today? Thinking about everything all the time, people having friends in the GH, some of whom voted too, looking in my eyes with revenge. Mocking me around and pointing out fingers on me. The new bad guy of college. Creating waves around like anything.

I don't rue that I was the part of it, I don't rue that people call me bad guy, I don't rue that they hate me but all I rue is that people along with FRIENDS never had faith in me. Atleast those who are friends, infact I should use the word "WERE" now, didn't even bother to ask me once that what was the truth. They believed what others said and what they saw without even applying their brains. They would have first taken care of the technicalities what they were talking of, forget the belief they had in me, if they ever had.

Much more to say but not to explain, I think this topic can make me write some more pages if I don't stop now. All I get to learn from this episode is the answer to "why it happens with me only". I have to build more faith among my (so called) friends towards me by doing a lot unneccessary talking, which since I think is against my nature being a techie and being a guy who has lot to learn and see much more in life and face even greater difficult circumstances...

At the end of the episode, though it still HAUNTS me each and every second, all I can say is : "May life be fair to me next time".

We always have a choice !

Yesterday we went to watch Spiderman-3, the most awaited movie of this year I guess, atleast for me if not for others. After a great Spidey2 experience I just couldn't wait for the next in the series. A year and a half ago I guess was when the prequel was released.
Last time the special effects had been colossal and this time they were expected to be much better. This thought was more than enough that propelled my thought of watching it first day on the really big screen....at the IMAX theatre. Though we had to shell out a few extra bucks than we usually do but the money was worth the experience.
The fights were much more larger than life, specially the first one between Goblin and Spidey....boy it was terrific I should say. Then the next best scene in my view was when Sandman rose for the first time, the way the sand moved was I should say the best ever animation I have ever seen. It looked umimaginely realistic. Infact the most of the scenes invoving sandman were far too good. It must have taken a hell lot of time for producing such sequences.....like the transformation from sandman to a human and vice versa. Terrific I can say.
Well that was all the techie stuff I saw in the movie, what the movie had more was the EQ. A guess it was too much as far as an action-superhero kinda movie is concerned. Even King Kong had an emotional ending and now this one. Definitely the episodes containng the appreciation of spiderman as the hero of the town had generated feelings from within but the romantic sequences hardly stretched a muscle in your body. Yeah a few comedy shots were put in to move your cheek bones but a couple of them even had been a disaster in terms of timing.
All in all a good movie to watch, thugh one might not enjoy it on the small screen and definitely not if you watch the hindi dubbed version, people who've made that mistake already, I really feel sorry for them. I've even heard this part had a much higher budget than the prequels but this looses out in terms of movie experience. No doubt spidey2 was much better. It seems that its only the second part that gains the best success, be it Matrix, MI:2, or this movie.
One last thing that I would like to share is that I've always felt every movie teaches you a lesson and thats what even this movie did. Yes somehow I managed to find that too. I won't describe that how when and what about that, but leave it for you to explore, htink and most importantly impement in your own lives. It says in one line of Peter Parker... " WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE ".

An awesome experience

Last weekend I had been to the Akshardham Temple in Delhi. The experience was totally marvellous. I had mad a visit there previously too and appreciated the carvings and the immaculous effort the workers had put in but what I saw this time was much more than I could have ever imagined. Being a sort of tech guy I was most inspired by the amount of technology they have used in the exhibition. Awesome seems to be a small word for it. The statues were so realistic already but when I saw that they had their eyes blinking my head went round and round. The people there have even used robotics and the short skits are no katputli show but seems like real kids being present there.
Other thing that shook my head was the amount of knowledge they gave about India's past. Although one can very easily say that a temple does need to do all this but when you will see it for yourself then ....... Also impressive was the way we took that journey of India's past. Going through India's history and getting to know what the common people don't know and in that fashion, I think was no doubt the best India has uptil now. Gaining knowledge in a short span of 15 minutes that too while in a boat was the best way to explain. We sat inside and an audio clip was played, which has been timed perfectly to the surroundings as the boat moves. The surroundings have all been made of sculptures and all look so real that you can't stop admiring the things.
Though there was much more to gain information from including a movie which spanned more than half an hour but that could not keep me awake so no points to that.
Well, though the temple does not require any tickets etc, the show needs 125 rupees to be shelled out from the pockets, but definitely worth it.
The carvings etc was too good and when I came to know that it took five long years to construct the temple then I can easily believe that. The only thing I can't imagine is the amount of money they have put in....can't even dream of it.
All in all a magnificent experience and a must go place even if you don't go to temples like me.

FInally me true !

Its been quite a long time and I cant even figure out what class I was in. Maybe in class 5 or 6 i.e. 1995 or 96 I guess. I used to go in a shared tempo (with all school people) to school in Kanpur. I was highly obssessed with cricket at that time and we used to talk a lot anout cricket during our return journey to home and today when I saw the neewspaper I suddenly recall that day I am talking about.
We had a harcore Saching Tendulkar fan between us. She was 2 years senior to me and was listening to our talks, the usual cricket stuff. I made a statement that day which put me into a debate that day with my senior. " Sachin might be out of the team one day", I said. And to this she got into a slight argument that this could never happen until he retires himself. In answer to her I only remember one sentence of mine, " You can never predict the future, and this might be true one day, then we'll talk."
As India made an early exit from the World Cup Sachin's call for retirement was made not by him but by the people of India. And though he hadn't expressed any such feelings, the team for the Bangladesh tour made, my statement(though quite old) is a true statement today. I don't know where my dear senior is today but I all can say is that the answer which I gave to her is what the wold is today,"You can never predict the future". Message delivered !

Finally RKGLUG moves

The second RKGLUG meet held today........finally. After a long gap of around 6 months we finally had a meet. Starting from a faculty workshop we ended up conducting a student workshop. It was a nice experiemce, much better than the previous meet (a seminar) ofcourse. Last time our part was good but the response hadn't been so good. This time things figured out to be the opposite way. Our presentation wasn't that good but the response we got has been superb especially from girls. Frankly speaking I never expected such a response.
It seems Jagriti has really turned things around. Students are thinking to be more technical now. Feels great to see everybody getting in now. It has put a new zeal into me, to work again for the society and to share knowledge.
Feels great from within and even puts up more pressure on me. But I guess thats what I like and somehow this will help me in the near future.Khair the workshop will change things and perceptions all over our college and thats what I love..... changing habits, thinking and being diffferent. Lets hope this works from now on.

2nd Success in 3 days

Today the RKGLUG had its 3rd success, making a mark at the CEMCA, New Delhi, by successfully installing Linux on 2 systems and getting an invitation for more installations at their centre. We even earned 2000 rupees in the process, though that was not of much importance for us but it did provide the motivation for doing more such tasks.
This is the second success in 3 days, the first being Jagriti' 07. It has been LUG's sixth event I should say, but only 3rd success, the previous two being the JNU Workshop and the Installfest at RKGIT respectively. Though all of us had been unable to be at all three places but there has been an active participation at all places.
Gaurav sir's seeds are growing now. There will be more techies in the near future in RKGIT and I see many things coming en route to fame for our college. Let's pray for our success.

Finally Jagriti' 07 is a success !

6 months of talking and 3 months of labour finally resulted in some fruitful success. 30th of July was when Shashank put in that first post on orkut and since then we have put in everything be it in any form. Good timing for everything along with some really good marketing in the last stages helped in pull some real crowd. I won't go for describing the event as that will fill pages. All I want to say is that everyone's hard work paid in the end and made Jagriti a success.

Who is to be blamed?

Yesterday I was travelling on an unregistered bike in Delhi. Though I knew it was too risky but the job was worth the risk. Finally we got caught on our return journey.
As always we thought that putting in our license was not relevant so we offered the policeman, money. After some denials he too kept it and we escaped a rupees thousand fine. We moved ahead happily and didn't turn back.
But very soon I had the thought process again taking place! Were we right in bribing him ? I mean obviously it was illegal but what else could we do? We took a bike with no papers at our own risk, because no other bike was available in the hostel. Then, we went for fest work and not our personal work. We students how can we pay so much fine? Especially those who are from different places? This is what first view says where I justify myself.
Now second view says that I am one of those people who are spreading corruption in my country. If I bribe then why shouldn't others do? And then why shouldn't they take? All in all corruption from the grassroot level! And so if politicians commit scams we should not complain ! Isn't it?
Now I am not sure what the correct way is all I know is that I committed some crime and one of those who spread corruption in my country...

60 years of freedom or 100 more years of Slavery?

Last night it was the 26th of January, the Indian Republic Day. Its a national holiday and as far as I knew, no company, school, office, college or any other institution or organisation (profit or non profit) in the country works on this day. But my thoughts have changed because of what happened yesterday. I was having an online chat with one of my friends and was shocked to know that he was in office at 10 pm. I straightaway popped the question "Why are you working today?"
If the shock prompted me to ask the question, his answer made me feel dejected. He said,"I am a foreign worker".
As India enters its 58th year of republic and is just 6 months away from 60 years of freedom my question remains "Are we really an independent country?" The British might have left the country 60 years ago and India got its first president in 1950 but the people are still under slavery.
Every individual in this country is independent but do they feel so?
His answer suggested to me that most of us are still not free. They are under the slavery of the countries which get their work done through Indian Labourers. Had they been free they would be working as they wish and celebrating our festivals and not of other countries. The IT industry is booming and will continue to boom but with these foreign companies rising their presence in India, the youth is going where the money is and thus going in for slavery of those nations.
The young generation today is trying to learn foreign languages, be it English, French or German but do they know their national language? They say it's necessary for the development of the nation? Didn't the Japanese or the Russian or Chinese or any other nation develop without learning or adopting any foreign language. Those who have been to these countries had great problems in communicating, not because they didn't know their language but because no one was willing to speak English, even though they knew it. Why don't we take a lesson from them? Who is to be blamed for this? Sam Pitroda says english should be taught from class 1 itself and what about Hindi Mr.Sam?
Is science a slave of the language? Will its understanding be affected if we study it in Hindi?
Microsoft is working in institutes to make a compiler in Bhojpuri! How many of us know that? The biggest software firm of the world is making softwares in our languages and we are running after foreign languages. If more than 50% of the nation does not know the English language then whats the use of making developments in English? How will the common man know the technology? India produces lakhs of engineers every year. Instead of giving employment to the nation they are running after foreign languages, foreign companies to absorb them. The other nations are not ruling us but we are running to be their slaves. When will this end?
I have put up a hundred questions but who will answer them I don't know. Well, I don't care who answers them, all I wish is that they should be answered as soon as possible so that we don't remain slaves but become masters instead.

Do i know the real India?

Today is 26th of January '07, the 58th year of republic. Its been some time that I have been thinking about the nation, meaning I have become patriotic a bit. The India Poised campaign by the TOI seems so catch my attention everytime and makes me feel interested. I downloaded the videos and even sent them to many friends and have even been reading articles ever since the campaign was launched. Really good articles if you are interested.
Its been some days that we have been working almost the entire day for the fest preparations and yesterday I realized that apart from getting experience of working with the faculty and management there are a couple more completely different things that I have realized. Though both have no relation between them but both are a result of spending time with Pandey sir.
Sometime ago I had written an article on him what I write today is also because of him. The two things I was talking about have a deep significance. First thing is that I have started getting a feeling that I do not know India. I dont know the culture, the people and many things about our country that we should know. I have no knowledge of the different tribes in India, their culture and everything about them. Earlier when I went to sir with Gurpreet, Dhiraj or Gaurav sir and he talked of the villages and other rural people I was never ashamed of myself but now when I go with Shashank and he starts the same talks, Shashank gets involved in talks with him and I am a mere spectator or a good listener only. It has been getting in my mind that I don't my own nation!! Is that my fault? A bit yes and a bit no. No, because I have never been to villages or had any family connection with them. Yes, because I feel I was never even interested in listening to people who have been from such places. Anyways whatever has happened is past but I wish to learn all about India from now, rural or urban. Hope I succeed..
The other thing I felt is that staying in a place like RKGIT has made me feel complacent about myself. I feel that I am doing enough!!! But whenever I meet Pandey sir I always feel there's so much to do. So much to learn, so much to study, so much to explore and last but the most important what have I been for myself? I have many plans when I have money but am I doing anything that will make my resources so strong that I face no hurdles while executing my plans?? At present my answer is no but the thought is getting into me and sooner or later I have to start. As is said "well begun is half done" and "It's good to start early". Hope I succeed in that too. Amen!

Wow ! Did God or the UPTU VC read my post?

In my very last post I wrote about some things which I didn't like about the univ. Though I never liked the way the question papers were set but I never said because even I pass because of those easy papers, but the PPl question paper not only surprised me but infact rocked. Yes it was just perfect what a engineer should be asked in the exam.
The paper was such that we had to apply our brains to the maximum and moreover to write to something in it we needed to know the concepts, which aren't learnt in one day study which most of us do. Yes, even I did not fare well but I was not at all dejected at my performance. The paper truly said, if you dont study then you have no rights to pass. Maybe this will make me study next time. Huh.
The next thing I'd like to say what happened as a consequence of the question paper was that the BBD faculty was so amazed at the paper that they understood that the students won't be able to do this paper well. They started helping students, answered questions, allowed cheating and in a friend's room they even said to attempt full 100 marks paper and leave the rest to UPTU to pass. Well I think that was the best they could say at that moment, but on the contrary this showed that they knew the condition of the UPTU students and knew what and the way they teach is insufficient was not enough to appear in such type of paper. That is bad from a teachers' perspective. Hey I forgot to mention the most funny moment of the day. Two of them infact. Students who mug up everything, as I said in my last post, had great reactions on taking a first glance at the paper. While one of them said he knew nothing in the paper, a student getting a consistent 70+%, another "rattutota" said the paper is entirely out of course and said it that loud that I heard in the next room sitting. This is what I never expected from my class to be engineers. But it only opened my eyes further that what is the expent of mugging. Khair me not here to discuss them. The conclusion is that if UPTU continues setting its question papers in this way, we might be seeing engineers in a few years from now. Cheers.

Asia's largest technical university, does not produce Engineers actually

The topic might seem strange but it is a hard core fact. Yes, UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University) is Asia'a largest technical university and the irony for me in this piece of information is that I don't find it producing engineers. (This is completely a personal opinion.) Well, the question is why do I say this ??
Lets start from the very basic. Each year around 50,000 engineers graduate from this university through various colleges. If I make a survey I know that not more than 10% will be knowing the meaning of an engineer. To be very true even I didn't know. And to put up some definition here I had to turn upto wikipedia to find out who an engineer is. This is what it said :" Engineers use creativity, technology, and scientific knowledge to solve practical problems." To go into the detail you can see this.
I will use just the basic first line. Engineer uses CREATIVITY, TECHNOLOGY and SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE . Wonder how many of those graduating each year use that.
Infact the format of the university is such that students actually don't need to learn those skills at all to become an engineer. The curriculum says to pass in atleast 6 subjects out of 10 (passing marks being only 30%) in the end semester exams. Those are counted as external marks which comprise of only a meagre 50% of the total marks. I have some interesting data up my sleeve.
Figure this first point out now, a private institution topper scores 499 out of 500 in the internal exams but only 325 out of the external 500. The second topper gets 498 internal and 290 external. Isn't that strange. A student who knows almost 100 % when appearing in the internal exams knows only 65% of the external exam paper, the second one getting not even 60%. I fail to get an answer or I should say I won't say it here. Result : 80% marks allover.
Figure this second point out. A student rarely attends classes in the college. Sometimes passes in the internal exams, gets average internal marks and manages to score 50% in the external exams. Result : 65-70% marks allover.
The third point now. A student never attends classes, never or rarely passes in the internal exams, manages to pass in the external examination and keeps passing for the year and goes through his B.Tech in the same manner. Result : 50 to 60 % marks allover.
What came to me after studying all these cases was that you do need to require any technical knowledge in order to top, pass or scrap through your B.Tech process. At the end of four years all three guyz have almost nill knowledge and have scored varying marks. For the outside world, the topper was the best kid and no prizes for guessing who the worst guy was.
The only thing I understood was that barring 5-10% of the students rest all are either pursuing a course where you need to have no knowledge of your subject. Infact mugging up is sufficent or I should say more than enough for any student to land in any of the three candidates listed above's place. The amount of mugging skills you have, is the amount of external marks you get. For internals there are various criterion which I cannot or rather should not say here.
No, I dont say that its the fault of a single person. The students are responsible for it no doubt but the main culprit is the university and the pattern which it follows. Most students have made it a habit to open their books a week before the exams or maybe even later and then scrap through the exams. And why should they study, if no one cares what they know. Infosys, the dream job for many people here in the UPTU, asks not a single technical question in its written test or even the interview. So why should I waste time in studying?? And once you have a job in your hand, who cares how did you complete your B.Tech or what subjects you studied. So thats another reason for what I have been discussing.
All in all there are many reasons why students have no knowledge or no skills that an engineer should have as compared to students from other reputed institutes (keeping in mind that at other places too I don't count the entire crowd, but still a mojority).
Its time we should raise the matter with the university people to do something about this, change the curriculum and change the way marks are secured in the unversity. Or on the other hand do nothing and just keep on producing labourers from the university who do not know what they have or should be doing other than following the orders of others. And the greatest part is that they have an engineer title placed on their empty heads which only raises their matrimony value.
I dont know if I have gone in some worng direction at some places but the essence of the topic must have been achieved.

First seminar successful

Finally I find some time to write this. Had planned a bigger article but just couldn't dig out time to do so. The first seminar on localization completed in great fashion. Many renonwed people were there at our college and it was great to see such a gathering in a college which is not known by many people. The seminar was a first of its kind in the entire country. There was much to know and even more to learn. Feel pity for those who despite being there in our college could get nothing from it.
Actually I am too bored to write about it now so going off. Bye

Its your Life, Make it Large

Last night an old friend of mine came to meet me. He is also doing B.Tech from the UPTU University. For a change, we were discussing our future plans and he, just as any other guy said, "I will go for an MBA". When my turn came, I said "I do not know ", much to his and may be your surprise.

I joined RKGIT in 2004 in the Computer Science department. At that moment even I had the same plans, start my preparations from the second year itself, crack the CAT in the final year. Then obviously join an IIM and come out with flying colors with a big, fat package which, would help me make rest of my life luxurious. As time has progressed so have my thoughts. Now, my heart or my mind, for that matter, does not allow me go for the MBA or M. Tech or an MS. It says only to "Be Different".

India's population is increasing each second and in equal proportion are increasing the number of engineers that are passing out. The IT field has boomed like anything and this boom is going to last for many more years. Everyone is getting jobs and once that is done they think they are through and settled. I know most of you might be thinking "YES" that's what I have come here for! But in the real sense, ask yourself, "Is that what you came on earth for? Is the job you are getting, or going to get in near future, your aim in life? Or Getting through CAT or GATE and securing a 10 or 20 lac package your sole aim in life? Maybe some of you might be thinking to the US or the UK and then minting money there?" Well, some or maybe most of you might be answering in "yes". But is that the goal of your life? My answer is a definite NO. That’s not what you are destined for.

If you have answers for the previous questions then let me put up the next question, “Why would or maybe should God waste time in creating lacs of similar human beings and that too in the single country forget about other countries ? Is He a fool? “I am sure He isn’t.

He sends all of us on earth with some mission to accomplish and mind it, that mission is unique for everyone. He sends us messages, many times in our life, to make us remember that mission. It’s only a matter of time when we read His sms.

This uniqueness of yours which I am talking about can be found by your own self. Yes, everyone of us is different in someway or the other. It’s only a matter of time when we discover our hidden talent and perform to our capabilities and find our true potential. Some one is good at art, other at music, a third one technically and the fourth at administration. Who knows you might be the next Bill Gates or Shiv Khera or Mr. A.P.J.Kalam for that matter. It’s only a question of time. All you have to do is to keep searching for the uniqueness that makes your personality, the personality which will make your identity.

I have read his message and I want all of you, through this piece of text, get His memo. Try to do something unique, something new, something innovative, something that will make you happy from the inside. After all you don’t want to read this message when you are 80 odd years old.

It’s totally up to you, what you want to do in life. Get lost in the crowd or make your mark. “It’s your wish, you can be forgotten or you remembered as one of those noble few who MADE IT”. You decide what you want to be and let not others decide your fate. Try to rule the world and not get ruled by others. My advice to all of you is to start following your dreams an forget about the rest. Just try to be distinguishable and think or more importantly DO something that makes you and your well wishers proud of.

Hindi is our national language, or is it?

Ever since I have been using Hindi in the conversations, especially scrapping, people have been putting this question in front of me, "Why are you writing in Hindi or Where from this desire to write in Hindi has come?" I have been answering almost same to all the people that Hindi is our national language and we need to respect it. Am I wrong?
In the race to get a job in an MNC people have using english or atleast trying to do so. It's right from that point of view, but now people have started writing Hindi using the English alphabets. Is this justified or is the language getting its due respect? People, especially students are in this habit. They do not respect the nation or their national language for that matter.
Lately, I understood the importance of Hindi in our country. Figure this out. A majority of the national population does not know English. In fact the most common language of the country is Hindi. Most of the Indian companies want to get an international status, few of them have succeeded also but in that quest they have left their home country behind. They do not care about the upliftment of the society. They want to make India a technological hub of the world. But is that possible without the common man understanding that technology. The common man, who does not understand English. So to make them understand the technology, we need to understand them that in the language which they understand i.e. their native language. Now can anybody have any other solution that makes India a technical hub of the world without using Hindi?
My personal experience says that the present youth understands English better than Hindi. Is that correct? If we do not understand then how can we make others understand? We need to take some serious steps in this field. Let the farmers know what will the weather be like today and in the next few days. Let them understand the power of internet and make them understand the real might of the technology and the muscle of India.
Examples of such countries are Japan(the present technology hub of the world), China, Russia and many others, where people do not speak English and always converse in their native language irrespective of the person's origin they are talking to. Can't we learn from them??
So its a request to all my readers, to something for the nation and do something that makes you proud of. जय हिन्द !!!

Hey I found something new

The first thing when I switch my system on is that I play some song. And its been some days now since I have been hearing new songs only. Today morning when I started browsing folders for selecting songs for the playlist suddenly I thought to change. I selected a folder which I never browse. Can you guess which ?? No I suppose. It had the title "Ghazals". Haha, a big change. And then without even looking at the songs I selected all and put them to play. After some time you know what I was thinking, " I have so many nice songs in my system and I never knew!!!" . Really those were really nice and its night now and I am still listening those only. And yeah still hunting for more of such songs. Hope I find some more.
Great to explore myself and happy to find more likings.

Golden days remembered

Just half an hour earlier I was at the volleyball court .The recently built court prompted me to play again and this time I did not stop and ended up with pulling a lot of crowd.
Playing has always been fun for me and I have loved to play since I was 5 years old (as I can recall). I just never seem to get tired while playing, be it cricket, basketball or volleyball for that matter. I can't control myself either. Infact today I played both the games, volleyball as well as basketball (also after 5 years). Hah I really enjoyed.
Playing has brought about a change in me. No, its not for my good but for my bad instead. Yes, I know it very well. My patience has again and again been tested and I have become short tempered again. I left the volleyball court without saying anything to anyone. My desire and my will to win has brought about this change in me. Actually I can't see myself losing and specially because of some one else's fault.
My seriousness in whatever I do is like a boon for me, but when those involved with me are not as serious as me then I just start losing my patience. May be I expect too much from others but its all about team work and when people fall after taking responsibility then it just hurts me in the brain straightaway and those silly excuses just take me to my extremes. The class 8 Abhinav Sahai takes over and the days when I just never lost in anything get over me.
Maybe this may help me somewhere. But as of now I just wanna get over this. Let's see if it's for my good. After all "Everything happens for our own good."

Things ain't easy

The semester end is nearing and we haven't been able to conduct even a single CSI event. Infact all we have succeeded is getting an Inaugaration function to be organized. This is a success or a failure ??? I feel its a faliure. Whatever plans we had remained plans only. No work for the fest has started and this is a very bad sign. Talks, talks and talks are all what we have managed. Everyone else in the college is thinking that we are doing something although only we know that in the real sense nothing is happenning. Apart from that the semester exams are coming and thats a tension too. Oh not to forget that great college people have sent notice at home regarding poor attendance and poor performance in sessionals. Seems everything is getting out of control.
I am going for an abdrupt end because I dont know why I am writing this .........
May God help me. Amen

Who owns the internet ?

It's been some days now that I have put this question in front of many people and to myself too, but as alchemist says " When you plan to achieve something , the entire universe conspires you to attain that" and thats what happened with me. A couple of days earlier I popped this question in front of some friends and then only I saw the newspaper which answered atleast some of them. Like, the person behind the idea or better known as the person who did it is Tim Berners-Lee. The first website is the CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva) website. When the web was started it was started as a mechanism for sharing high energy particle data.
That's history now and presently as in the last week of October the count of the website is 100 million. Now the next question that might arise is, who keeps track of this information ?? This answer I found pretty quickly, thanks to "The Times Of India" (Nov 3 06 edition). Netcraft , is the internet monitoring company. It keeps track of this count through the domain name system. And guess what? Netcraft also keeps information of the location of the websites, what operating system are they based and even what web server software are they running. Cool isn't it ?
As far as Netcraft is concerned, it is based in Bath, England. It says the first website was developed in 1989 . About Tim Berrners (who invented the web's basic software), my information says he's an Oxford educated Englishman and presently a researcher at MIT (which is the premier technical institute of the world), along with being a professor at University of Southampton an the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (an internet standards getting organization). All this info about Mr Lee is courtesy "The Hindu" (Nov 3 again).
The moral of the topic is that the alchemist was right, atleast my experience says so !!!
